Zombies

Okay, this one is marginally about Lilie...  But she's in the story, and I know that certain viewers of the blog, my parents, who wish to remain anonymous, can't see what's going on with Katie and me [this is grammatically correct] on Facebook.

So here's a picture of Lilie, with a back story mostly about us.

We ran our first 5k!  Katie was looking for a 5k race that would get her motivated to participate, and stumbled across 'Run For Your Lives'.  It's a 5k cross-country race that has obstacles, mud, and zombies.  Runners wear flag football belts, and volunteers with zombie makeup try to snag the flags.  If you can keep one flag, you 'survive'.  Lose all three, and you're 'infected'.

We ran in the morning, and were zombies from 2:30 - 6PM.  I pulled together two Steak N Shake costumes, the event provided some awesome makeup, and we chased people all afternoon.  We decided to keep the makeup on so Lilie could see it - after we cleared it with Grandma, who explained that Lilie was excited to see us in costume/makeup.

Yeah, not so much.  She hid from us both when we got home, and it took quite a bit of bribing to convince her to come to Walmart with me.  In costume and makeup.  Katie had a bum knee, and opted to get cleaned up at home.  Grandma, Lilie and I went to Walmart and had some fun, then stopped off at Steak N Shake to order some milkshakes to go.

As you can see, she eventually warmed up to me.  Kind of.
