The Amazing Growing Baby

Just add milk.

Holy smokes, I can't believe how much she's grown! It's simply incredible. I will try to update more later this week but I wanted to post these two pictures. Love to all!

Lilie's First Parade

This weekend was Collinsville's annual Italian Fest so her daddy and I decided to take Liliana to her first parade. Wanting to make sure she enjoyed it to the fullest, we let her eat waaay too much of the candy she got. ;)

We had beautiful weather and good company; a fantastic time was had by all. (Dad, we made sure to eat some bagna cauda for you.) Here are a few pictures from the parade and then some other pictures of Lilie from this week:

Lilie's First Long Car Ride

Last weekend Liliana got to meet her Aunt Bethany! Bethany came to visit from Georgia and then we took a road trip to Bloomington, IL to spend a little QT with her Aunt Bettina, Uncle Brian, and Cuz Brayden. Lilie is not a fan of her car seat so I was a little nervous for us all. (I know, what child hates a trip in the car, right?! Well, this one apparently.) Luckily she slept nearly the entire way there (about 3 hours). We hung out and had a great time, evidenced in the pictures below. However, on the way home we weren't so lucky; Lilie let us know that she was *ahem* less than thrilled about being in her car seat. Sorry, Bethany and Matt, I hope your eardrums have made a full recovery. ;) Still, we had a great time!

Playtime!

As I mentioned earlier this week, Lilie really is starting to develop her personality. Today I was able to catch some great examples of this while she was playing in her swing and bouncy seat. This is very picture heavy; I actually took even more and had to pick just some to post here. Hope you enjoy these faces as much as I do!

What is that?
After a lengthy observation, she decided that the frog must be food. (I admit that still confuses and slightly disturbes me)...
Trying it...
One more try...
Nope, not edible and therefore no fun.
Miscellaneous cuteness:
Lilie's bouncy seat makes water and bird noises. I don't know if the cat was more interested in the baby or finding out if the baby was harboring stray Robins that wouldn't be missed.

I was trying to make her smile so I was making faces (and there may have been some silly noises involved too). I didn't capture a smile this time but I thought this face was pretty dang cute too. Even if she was looking at me like I'm a crazy lady.
"McCain or Obama? Mmmm...I just can't decide."

Quick Update

Little Miss is quite the handful today so I'm not sure how long or detailed this update will be. However, I wanted to post a few pictures and her stats from her doctor appointment yesterday.

Monday was her one-month checkup. She now weighs 8 lbs 15.5 oz and is 19.5 inches long. For anyone playing along at home, that means she's up over a pound from her birth weight and has grown half of an inch. By all accounts she's doing wonderfully in the growing department.

I can attest that she's also developing just fine in the personality department. She has even started dishing out real smiles! While some days are easier than others, depending on her mood, she is still an easy child to get along with. Today, unfortunately is one of the "other" days so I'd better get to posting pictures before she wakes up...

Exciting weekend

This weekend Liliana got to meet her Auntie Tina, Uncle Brian, and Cousin Brayden! It was so cute to see the little ones together. We had a fabulous time with them and got to spend some quality time with Aunt Mar-Mar, Uncle Brian, and Brianna as well.

I will be going back to work in a couple of weeks so I'm squeezing in all the time I can with Lilie before I have to reenter the grown-up world. I just can't believe she's 4 weeks old already. We still don't quite have a routine down, each night is kinda like a box of chocolates, but we have had a couple of nights that she's almost slept through.

For the most part she is still very mellow and easy-going. I love the times (when they occur during daylight anyway) where she's alert and we can play. Actually, it's mostly Mommy enjoying the toys right now but she's slowly starting to show an occasional interest. She's starting to discover her world though and I wake up every morning and wonder how she's going to amaze me next.

Here are some pictures from our weekend. Sorry I don't have the time to edit them right now so please forgive the size and quality of some:

Sorry, Brayden. You look embarrassed and/or horrified that you're playing on a pink mat. I promise we won't show this to your friends when you're a teenager. Pinky promise. ;)
