Well That's Obvious

Katie and Lilie had been doing a lot of counting during the day.  We were sitting at dinner when Katie decided to review what they'd covered.

"If I have two," she asked, extending two fingers on one hand, "and I add two more, what is it?"

Lilie paused.

"Ummmm.... math."

6/15/2012

Tonight we went to the Third Degree Glass Factory for their Third Friday event.  Aladdin and Jasmine from the Muny's production of 'Aladdin' were there to sign autographs and take pictures.  Liliana was duly impressed - and bashful.

Yeah, I wore a tie.  Liliana and Katie had been pretending the van was an airplane on the way home that afternoon.  Lilie explained as we were getting ready for the evening that 'all of the boys on the airplane were wearing really fancy ties.  Like they're going to a wedding.'  So of course I had to follow suit.

We left there and, after some potentially dangerous navigation errors thanks to yours truly, arrived at our Groupon dinner destination: Coco Louco Brasil.  Somehow, none of us managed to order anything from the menu that involved the stereotypical 'lots of meat on a kabob'.  It was still fun - and Lilie and Laney managed to behave wonderfully, given the hour of the night and how long it took to get our food...

Can you tell Lilie had a good time?  You'll have to check the Bennett's blog for the other pics!

Golwitzer weekend

Liliana was soooo excited to have her cousins visit a few weekends back.  It was one of those things that you can't share with your kids too soon, or you'll have to endure weeks of "Is it time yet?".

It ended all too soon!

I think Brayden came up with some kind of drinking game based off of Angry Birds.

Liliana enjoyed it, which made Brayden happy too.

It's Been a While...

Sorry we haven't produced an update recently - we really have no excuses!  Lilie has continued to come up with some good ones:

Lilie was playing downstairs while Katie was making dinner.  She chattered away, talking both sides of a conversation between herself and the rubber lizard she had in her hand.  Katie didn't pay much attention until there was a pause, and then she overheard Liliana say, "Hey, what *am* I, chopped lizard?!?".

I was working in the front yard, and Liliana was 'helping' me.  I was tired, and focusing on the work at hand, so I gave her half an ear as I shoveled dirt into our wheelbarrow.  Liliana chattered at me.

"Roger roger", I said with one of my standard half-an-ear responses.

"Copilot ready for takeoff," muttered Lilie...

We did some fishing on Mother's Day.  I have to remind myself to not succumb to the temptation or convenience of doubling up on our anniversary and Mother's Day.  We'd spent Saturday celebrating our anniversary, so Sunday was low-key.  That's not the way to do it; Katie deserves both events to be all-out.  Better planning next year!

Here are the pics:

Lilie is kissing the bait for good luck.  Hey - it was corn.  Don't get all worried.

Here's Lilie being... well, Lilie.

More to come shortly!  But we have to keep this organized, right...?
