The Magic House on a Dime

This post is waaay overdue because Jason uploaded the pictures with the best of intentions on June something, and hasn't come back to add comments...
The start of the day!
Alphabet time.
I was wanting to get a really cute picture of her with the word 'smart' under her. Here's what I ended up with. You be the judge...
Hm. She acts the same with the beds here as she does at home.
I wanted it to look like she was driving, but it was so crowded that the best I could get was her being shocked at some guy's offer to clean her windshield. That's life in the city, kid...
A small fan of big bubbles!

Quick! Name an algebraic theorem.
...and here's the solution. Give me another, old man!
It's not a harness, it's ... it's... uhm, a lifejacket?

This was mostly what we saw all day. Katie claims that I made these guys uncomfortable when I snapped the pic... oops.

Out and About

We found ourselves at the park the other day while we were between church, a visit to Katie's mom in the hospital, and a baby show in Collinsville. Dang. We were busy!

"I'm not certain I'll make it gracefully through all the stuff you have planned for me today. I just want to put that out there right now... If I'm misbehaving later, remember that I warned you. K?"

We made it to our lunch spot!

Beauties....

...and a beast!

And back to beauties :)

I don't recall exactly what Katie was trying to explain to Lilie here.

But the conversation lasted a while...

...before Lilie weighed in with her opinion.

"I think I may need a second alone with my diaper, please."

"Just kidding! It was only bum noise."

I am not in the habit of wearing 'wife beaters' in public. Lilie had applied a generous helping of pudding to my shirt at this point, and it was drying off in the sun.

I love it when she laughs this hard.

We were driving home and Lilie was in the back seat with a snack. We literally heard "Jibber jabber jibber jabber... crunch crunch munch... Snore."

Gorging on a snack and passing out. Those make for the best naps!
It was a great day, with a well-timed nap. See you later!

St. Louis: City Garden

St. Louis had a recent addition to its urban parks. Located almost next to a Metrolink station and within view of the Arch, it's become quite a destination. It doesn't hurt that it has a couple of fountains (one designed for play, one not - though people still do) and some sculpture that begs to be climbed upon. And a small cafe. Oh, and a giant head...

If I only had the words, Daddy, I could explain to you that purple and pink do not go together. Please... please do not make me go out in public this way.

Sigh. Thanks, Daddy. Oh well. Here we are at the park, dressed entirely WRONG.

What's that? Water? Like on the Beverly Hillbillies, only different?

Really... Mommy. It's no big deal. It will come back. It's just a fountain, with timers... and ... stuff.
See... I can practically hear it running its timer. Really.
AHA. Over there lies the one that will erupt next. It's simple math, really.
I hate to say I told you so, but ... well, there it is.
Giant, abstract... uh, bunnies. Right Mommy? Bunny?
Ah. Cool. If it's a bunny, I can give it a kiss.
Ah, to one day live in an apartment down here, gazing down at the sad children dressed in purple and pink. PURPLE. AND. PINK.
This was one very tall horse sculpture! Mommy and I looked so good on the first picture!
This photo op is over. You can't beat perfection.
[How can she look sooooo cute in this pic? - Daddy] Did I mention the giant head?Giant head. Best. Photo. Ever.

City Garden! Can't wait to come back in the heat of summer, when the fountains are spitting water full-blast...
