Trip to Colorado

This weekend we flew to Colorado to help Lilie's great-grandpa celebrate his birthday. We had such a wonderful time! Liliana was an angel at the airport and during both flights. I was worried that she'd try to be running all over the place on the plane but I have to give big props to Daddy for 100% tuckering her out before the flights.

How to guarantee a toddler will sleep on a plane

She liked looking out the window before we took off
Later, in the car.
"Are we there yet?"
Align LeftHanging out with great-grandpaWe went to the Denver Children Museum. It was a blast; very educational, hands-on fun! (Oh, and I think the kids enjoyed it too.)
"Hang on, guys. I just need to check my email real quick."
Paging Dr. Lilie. Dr. Brayden needs assistance in the lab.
"Don't worry, Kitty. I do this alllllll the time at home to my cat." "Muuhawhaw! Daddy has noooo idea just how messy this is going to get."
(Still sorry about that shirt, honey!)

Fire Captain Cutie-Pants

Uncle Seth, Aunt Jennifer, and their boys were nice enough to drive out to hang out with us on Saturday night. (Seth and Jennifer, I really enjoyed visiting with you! Hopefully we'll have more time together next time.)

James, Lilie, and Ryan
Aww, brothers!
Aren't they cute?
I love this picture! (Tina, you're such a flirt.)
Out cold
They are too adorable for words.
"Mommy, do I have to sit on your suitcase again to get it closed?"Ow, ow! Who is that stone-cold fox in that hot ride?
Oh, that's right, it's my sister.Liliana rocking out her big-girl car seat.
Hey, sometimes the rhythm really does getcha.

What an awesome, fabulous trip! It was great to spend time with some of our families, I'm ready to do it again!

A couple of videos

This first video is of Lilie eating her pasta. She thought it was really funny (and we agreed) to stick her fingers inside the pasta rings and eat them off her fingers.

In the second video, she is giving me a 'high five'. She really is an excellent walker but she was tired in this clip so she was falling all over the place. ;)

Weekend Fun

When Lilies attack!
View from the Art Museum lawn

Our own little masterpiece
Don't be silly, Daddy. That one is obviously a Pierre Renoir.
Lilie got a special box from Grandpa & Grandma H!
She carried her new dishes all around the house to be
sure we knew that these belong to her.
Have you met my lady-friend?
Whoa. Didn't think I'd get this look for another 12 years or so.

Walking the dog

For her birthday, Lilie got this puppy from her Nana and Papa. She loves to take it for a walk! I'm amazed how how quickly she caught on to how you have to pull it so it will stay on the ground. She likes to bark at it too. I didn't catch any on video but she'll pull it around and say, "Arf, arf!"

Now the dog just needs a name...please leave your suggestions in the Comments section.

The Best Year of My Life

Birthday
1 year later

Oh, how my life has changed since last August...all for the better! Jason and I have been so blessed with this sweet, beautiful little girl.

Here are a few pictures from her birthday party:

What a beautiful mess!
We couldn't let Lilie have *all* of the fun
(I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure HE started it)
You'll notice the gigantic pile of toys behind them.
Funny how they only wanted whichever toy the other one was playing with.
However, there were plenty of tiaras to go around
Sorry, Brian! You shoulda' been here to protect him, man! ;)
The Bennetts bought Lilie a kitchen set for her birthday!
Putting it together warranted a whole other party.
She loves it!
Here you see her making her famous giraffe and strawberry soup. YUM!

Thank you to all who came to help us celebrate and we missed those of you who couldn't make it! Love to all!

Lilie Love

Maybe these shades will fool the paparazzi.
Awww! Getting kisses from Aunt Mar-Mar
Awww! Giving kisses (and lots of slobber) right back
Lilie loves hanging out with her cousin Brianna!
Funny faces!
For anyone who has seen Lilie's "mean face", this picture makes it quite clear where she got those brows.
I'd wondered for a long time what this space between my cabinets would be good for.
Turns out it's the perfect place to hide a Lilie bug!

The thousand-mile stare.
A sure sign a nap is in our immediate future.
