Visit with the Doctor and Jolly Ol' St. Nick

Last Wednesday, Ms. Lilie had her 4-month appointment with her pediatrician. She is doing very well...she is now 24.5 inches long (that puts her in the 55th percentile), her head circumference is 16 1/4 inches (60th percentile), and she weighs 12.4 lbs (25th percentile). I was rather worried about her weight because she actually lost 6 oz since her last appointment rather than gained any. However, both the doctor and Jason did a good job of assuring me that she is perfectly healthy and doing fine. :)

This weekend, Lilie got to meet Santa Claus--twice! First, Aunt Mar-Mar, Uncle Brian, and Brianna invited Jason, Liliana, and I to join them for breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun and Lilie enjoyed meeting the big guy for the first time. Though, I saw a lot of other frightened little children so I'm pretty sure we'll look back at this year as one of the easiest in the next several years.

On Sunday morning, Lilie and I joined Aunt Mar-Mar and her whole family for more Santa goodness. Lilie had her picture taken again with Santa, she got a stocking, and she got to meet a real, live reindeer! It was a really fun weekend!

Aunt Tina, Uncle Brian, and Brayden are coming this weekend for a visit so it's sure to be another good one. (And that means I'll have more Lilie and Brayden pictures soon!)

Portraits

We had some professional pictures taken last night and I am so pleased with the way they turned out. The best part was the studio gave us a CD with all of the pictures they took so that we can share them on the blog! These pictures haven't been cropped or anything so please forgive me that. It was really hard to choose just a few photos but here are some and watch your mailboxes for more coming soon...

Lilie did so well; it was really kinda late for her by the time we got in for our turn but if she was tired, she didn't let it show. She loved the flash and the camera certainly loves her!

Thanksgiving

Last weekend my family came to visit (we missed you, Bethany and Grampaw & Grammaw H!) and we had an early Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for this year: my entire awesome family, my amazing boyfriend and his wonderful family, my fabulous friends, and of course our beautiful, healthy baby girl! We had a great time and I'm already looking forward to seeing everyone next time! Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Sitting pretty

So much to report, so little time! Lilie has officially started laughing and "talking". Her laugh is, of course, the most amazing sound I've ever heard. I do have a little video of her talking that I'm hoping to be able to post soon (I just have to figure out how...) and I'm trying to capture some of that precious laughter for you. Her talking consists mostly of shrieks and coo's but the funniest thing is the faces she makes when she's having a conversation with you or one of her stuffed animals. It's like Jason said, "She thinks it doesn't matter what's coming out of her mouth as long as she's moving her mouth like yours."

She has also started rolling over, the little firecracker. She has been rolling from tummy to back for awhile now but just last week she made her first back-to-tummy roll! I hope she doesn't get mobile too fast on us...I'm just not ready for a crawler yet. As you'll see below, she's also sitting up enough on her own to be able to sit in her Bumbo. Daddy and I are thinking of graduating her to an Exersaucer soon; that's sure to be really exciting! I think she's going to love jumping up and down.

Bath time has also become one of her favorites. She L-O-V-E-S to kick and splash in the water. I think Mommy and Daddy get nearly as wet as she does.

Lilie is trying to "help" me type tonight (with her hands and her forehead, actually) so I have to keep this brief. However, I wanted to update because I have reason to believe that Aunt Tina was planning to inflict bodily harm on me if I didn't post new pictures pronto! :)
