Pumpkin Picking

We couldn't avoid getting outside today; the weather was simply too beautiful.  I've never really kept track, but I think the Saint Louis area has roughly four weekend days in the fall and then four weekend days in the spring that are tolerable.  Anything else is either too cold, too hot, or it's storming.  Okay, maybe five weekend days.

We caught our lucky day in the spring with our wedding, and another one today for the fall.  So we opted to hit Rombach's pumpkin patch in Chesterfield.  It's a great place to visit, as you'll see in the pics!

As an aside, we noticed today that Lilie pointed out some things she thought were 'spooky'.

Do any other parents lament the loss of childhood words?  Liliana for the longest time referred to her copy of the Berenstain Bears' Trick or Treat as "the fooky book".  'Fooky' is lost forever, and somehow 'spooky' just doesn't sound as good.

Liliana used to refer to herself as 'Lilinana'.  Most recently, the name of her dance studio was for a few glorious days 'Doggers of Race' instead of 'Daughters of Grace'.  Now - and we can only blame ourselves - those kind of slips are coming around less and less.  It almost makes me want to avoid a gentle correction to her wordsmithing.  But not quite.

Here are the pics:
